After the sale of the Fabergé egg at Sotheby's, where Bond pushes the price up from £400000 to £500000, 007 follows Kamal Khan and his female companion out of the famous auction house so he can see where they go next. While casually buying a magazine from a kiosk on Bond Street, he watches his targets get into a Mercedes 600 Pullman limousine and signals an Austin FX4 black cab to follow. The cab's driver is Smithers, better known for working Q's lab, and the taxi provides perfect anonymity in London allowing 007 to tail Khan without arousing any suspicion.
